Welfare Service May 2020 – April 2023 Evaluation Report
The Welfare Service Evaluation, conducted by Jonny Edwards between December 2022 and April 2023, delves into the outcomes and impact of the Welfare Service over the duration of May 2020 to April 2023.
This evaluation sheds light on how the Welfare Service has made a difference in the lives of service users, highlighting improvements in financial stability, mental health, social well-being, physical health, and access to vital support. The Welfare Service Evaluation stands as a testament to Positively UK’s commitment to addressing the interconnected issues faced by those in the HIV community.
What Future Do We Want? 2023 Manifesto
In June 2022, Positively UK held the fifth National Conference of People Living with HIV. As a result of the conference, Positively UK produced a manifesto for the decade under the topic “What Future Do We Want?”
The manifesto shines a light on how different issues are interconnected and calls for a collaborative response from all key stakeholders. Its recommendations supplement the pathways towards a much-needed transformation of health systems into person-centred healthcare outlined in the “Quality of Life” report by the All-Party Parliamentary Group on HIV and AIDS.
GROWS Project: Key findings from research with women ageing with HIV
The GROWS Project addresses gaps in knowledge and understanding of the impact of ageing on the health and wellbeing of women with HIV. Growing older with HIV is a relatively new phenomenon; GROWS will build on existing initiatives to focus on developing information resources and a peer mentor training programme to support women growing older with HIV. This GROWS Policy report is based on analysis of existing and new data and is produced as part of the first stage of the GROWS project – research including focus group discussions, WhatsApp consultation and stakeholder interviews.
national standards for peer support in hiv
The Standards were developed by a Steering Group of people living with HIV, representatives of NGOs who provide peer support for people living with HIV and of the British HIV Association (BHIVA), National HIV Nurses Association (NHIVNA) and Children’s HIV Association (CHIVA). Targeted consultation was undertaken with groups of people living with HIV in London and Liverpool, the youth group leaders of the CHIVA Summer Camp, and with individuals from across the sector. From August to September 2016 the standards were then out for open consultation through e-forums including UK-CAB and NGOs across the UK.
