Despite recent conversations to start reinstalling some of our face-to-face support, we are sad to announce that we have had to suspend these plans. Due to the rise in Covid-19 cases and advice from PHE and our Trustees, we have advised our staff and volunteers to continue working from home for the time being.
Our trustee Dr Shema Tariq said “Given the sharp rise in infections, and that many of the people attending our activities may be older and have comorbidities, it is safer to cancel all face-to-face sessions. We realise this will have an impact on people’s wellbeing – it’s not an easy decision. However, the Covid-19 situation is rapidly evolving, and consensus is that we’re in a second wave.”
We will continue to support people living with HIV to build knowledge, confidence and connections by providing a range of online and phone support. For more information on the upcoming events check our latest newsletter and the website.
